Temperature difference configuration of rotary joint

Jan 29, 2024

When using rotary joints, customers are always asked about the usage conditions, temperature, air pressure, speed, etc. Today, we will specifically discuss the importance of temperature difference.

The general usage conditions are in the temperature range of 30-80 degrees Celsius. In this situation, it is mostly used for pressure sealing accessories, suitable for water and acidic media, and better for working in this environment. Another situation is high temperature environment operation, which is divided into several types between 100-150 degrees Celsius. Under these conditions, we usually use graphite rings for sealing. If the medium is changed to thermal oil, the distribution parts should be replaced with PTFE rings, and the tension spring should also be replaced with 55 screw gauges.

The tension spring can maintain elasticity below 260 degrees Celsius, so the compensation effect will not be damaged. If the temperature continues to rise by 220-300 degrees Celsius in this operating environment, then an upper immersed antimony sealing ring should be used. Tetrafluoro laminated ring, and the tension spring needs to be replaced with a 631 material tension spring. The antimony immersed ring can operate normally at a temperature of 400 degrees Celsius, The tension spring is also the same. And there is a special situation where the temperature of the cooling water is below 0 degrees. This working environment requires the use of graphite seals, stainless steel tension springs, and the connecting shaft also needs to be made of stainless steel material. Otherwise, in this type of operation, rust and leakage will not occur for several months. Therefore, when selecting the rotary adapter, we must choose accessories suitable for our own equipment in order to be more efficient and bring the maximum improvement.
