How to solve the noise problem of rotary joints?

Jan 22, 2024

As a rotating connecting device, the rotary joint itself needs to rotate and move, so it is inevitable to make noise during use. Excessive noise is noise. Due to the rapid friction of the double graphite seal inside the rotary joint, noise is generated inside the rotary joint. Generally, this is a normal phenomenon. Even if it is a normal phenomenon, it can cause a bad working environment for operators. Moreover, excessive noise ultimately has a negative impact on the joint, leading to noise mainly in the following aspects:

1. Due to the long working time of the rotary joint, there is no reasonable planning of the working time, resulting in noise;

2. If the rotary joint itself has been in service for too long and experiences aging, a new rotary joint should be used;

3. Immersing water inside the rotary joint generates heat during rapid rotation, causing relative friction between the graphite rings and resulting in noise;

The main reasons for the noise in the rotary joint are the above three points. When the noise is too loud, it is necessary to dismantle and inspect the inside of the joint in a timely manner to check whether it is contaminated or if it has entered dirty objects. Clean it up in a timely manner. If it cannot be handled by oneself, you can contact the manufacturer of the joint for repair and treatment.
