Technical And Economic Requirements For Rotary Joints
May 11, 2024
The rotary joint can rotate on its own and is also a mechanical seal used to transfer media through fixed pipelines and rollers. Simply put, it is a connecting component that is now indispensable in various industries. There are also many types and specifications of joints, but they remain unchanged. We only have two main requirements for rotary joints: technical requirements and economic requirements.
Different media, equipment requirements, and environments require the use of different rotary joints. High temperature, high speed, or high pressure rotary joints must be studied in the instruction manual before each use, and the technical parameters should not exceed the specified parameter range. For those without special requirements, there is no problem. Nowadays, many joint manufacturers are constantly improving their research and development capabilities, designing and manufacturing non-standard customized rotary joints for customers. Some people just think that foreign things are good and have to buy imported rotary joints. Due to different standards in foreign countries and China, most of them do not have specified specifications and cannot be used when purchased. The price is not cheap, and refunds are impossible. They can only be replaced, which not only wastes time and effort, but also adds time. That's another point. Economic requirements are high, low prices and short usage time are not acceptable, Reasonable price and long usage time are the key to cost-effectiveness.

The rotary joint adopts a spring type mechanical seal, which can provide sealing isolation between liquid and gas, or between medium and air, while the spring provides initial internal sealing pressure. When the joint starts to operate and presents a pressure sealing state, it relies on spring thrust to seal in low pressure and vacuum environments. Generally, rotary joints have two forms of support: the self-supporting form of the internal carbon graphite sealing ring and the external support form using a rod or support frame.
